THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE PAA ANNOUNCES THE FESTIVITIES MARKING THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ABIDJAN PORT

Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Director General of the Abidjan Port (PAA), received the stakeholders of the Abidjan port sector on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, during a meeting whose main objective was the official announcement of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Abidjan Port.
The festivities, placed under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, H.E.M. Alassane OUATTARA, under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Mr. Robert BEUGRÉ MAMBÉ, and under the sponsorship of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Amadou KONÉ, will take place on September 11 and 12, 2025, at the Abidjan Port and at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan.
As the leading port on the West African coast, the Abidjan Port owes its sub-regional positioning to the perfect synergy reigning among the members of the Abidjan Port Community (CPA). This celebration will therefore be an opportunity to pay tribute to the history and achievements of the Abidjan Port, as well as to strengthen ties among the different stakeholders of the CPA. “These 75 years are an opportunity to celebrate our successes, reflect on our past, and plan our future,” said Mr. Hien SIÉ, who encouraged the sector’s actors to share their ideas for the success of this event.
Inaugurated in 1950, the Abidjan Port plays a crucial role in the economy of Côte d’Ivoire as well as that of the West African sub-region. In 75 years of existence, it has become one of the main logistics hubs on the Atlantic coast of Africa.
