THE PORT OF ABIDJAN AND CÔTE D’IVOIRE TERMINAL WELCOME A DELEGATION FROM THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION, LITERACY AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION
As part of the partnership between Côte d’Ivoire Terminal and the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education, a ministerial delegation led by Mr. N’Guessan KOFFI, Minister of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education, and Mr. Jean Louis MOULOT, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education in charge of Technical Education, visited the facilities of Côte d’Ivoire Terminal, the concessionaire of the Second Container Terminal (TC2) of the Port of Abidjan.
Before proceeding to the terminal, the two Government officials paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, with whom they discussed issues related to the port sector and its role in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic development.
The ministerial delegation then visited the Second Container Terminal, where they were welcomed by the company’s management team, led by Mr. Koen DE BACKKER. A detailed presentation of the terminal’s infrastructure, missions, and contribution to the competitiveness of the Port of Abidjan and the national economy was delivered to the visitors.
The visit continued with a tour of the operations command and supervision centers, followed by an inspection of the quays, enabling the ministers to value the terminal’s state-of-the-art equipment and operational performance.
At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Jean Louis MOULOT, speaking on behalf of Minister N’Guessan KOFFI, expressed his gratitude to the management teams of both the Abidjan Port Authority and Côte d’Ivoire Terminal for their availability and the warm welcome extended to the delegation.
“This visit has enabled us to gain a better understanding of daily port activities. We leave enriched by this experience. We have identified numerous opportunities for collaboration and fully appreciated the importance of port-related professions in our country’s economic development,” he stated.
The Minister Delegate also commended Côte d’Ivoire Terminal’s commitment under the partnership established with the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education, which aims to contribute sustainably to improving learning conditions and promoting excellence in schools.
He further congratulated the Abidjan Port Authority for its achievements and the progress made in modernizing the port platform, a true engine of the Ivorian economy and a leading logistics hub in Africa.
This visit illustrates the shared commitment of institutional and economic stakeholders to strengthening the links between the world of education and the business sector, with a view to better preparing young people for the opportunities offered by the strategic sectors of the national economy.
