THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY AND CÔTE D’IVOIRE TERMINAL STRENGTHEN THEIR COLLABORATION

Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), received in audience, on Friday, June 26, 2026, a delegation from Côte d’Ivoire Terminal (CIT), concessionaire of the Second Container Terminal of the Port of Abidjan. The CIT delegation was led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Koen DE BACKKER.

This working session provided an opportunity to review Côte d’Ivoire Terminal’s activities at the Port of Abidjan, discuss the challenges encountered in the execution of its missions, and jointly explore solutions likely to improve operating conditions, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen the competitiveness of the Abidjan port platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Koen DE BACKKER presented an overview of the company’s activities, the performance achieved since the terminal became operational in 2022, as well as the key challenges associated with its operations. He also reaffirmed CIT’s commitment to pursuing investments and supporting the development of the Port of Abidjan as a leading logistics hub in West Africa.

For his part, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, surrounded by his closest collaborators, reaffirmed his determination to work towards the continuous improvement of service quality and the smooth flow of port operations, with a view to enhancing the attractiveness of the Port of Abidjan.

This framework for dialogue reflects the determination of the PAA General Management to consolidate a trust-based partnership with all stakeholders of the Abidjan port platform.

By promoting continuous dialogue with its partners, the Authority aims to strengthen the conditions for better optimization of port flows and sustainable development in the service of the national and sub-regional economy, while also contributing to the reputation of the Port of Abidjan.
