THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY AND GRANDS MOULINS D’ABIDJAN EXPLORE NEW PORT DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, received in audience, on Friday, June 26, 2026, a delegation from Grands Moulins d’Abidjan (GMA), led by its Deputy Managing Director, Mr. François MENENTEAU, accompanied by Ms. Safiatou COULIBALY, Legal Manager.
This meeting forms part of the ongoing consultation framework established by the Abidjan Port Authority with the key stakeholders of the Abidjan Port Community. It provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss the development projects of the GMA Group and to examine prospects for collaboration capable of supporting the growth of port activities.
At the opening of the discussions, the Managing Director of PAA welcomed the visit and recalled the strategic role played by Grands Moulins d’Abidjan within the national logistics chain, particularly through its contribution to the country’s supply of cereal products.
Taking the floor, Mr. François MENENTEAU reiterated GMA’s congratulations to Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ on his appointment as head of the Abidjan Port Authority. He praised the quality of cooperation between the two institutions before presenting the Group’s missions, the evolution of its activities, and the structuring investments planned to support its growth.
The discussions focused primarily on prospects for expanding the Group’s port storage capacities, as well as on the investments required to support evolving logistics flows and meet the growing demands of the port platform.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ welcomed the quality of the discussions and reaffirmed the willingness of the Abidjan Port Authority to continue fostering constructive dialogue with its strategic partners in order to promote the development of increasingly efficient, modern, and resilient port infrastructure.
To this end, he invited the teams of both institutions to further explore structuring projects aimed at anticipating the needs arising from growing trade flows, supporting the modernization of port facilities, and consolidating the Port of Abidjan’s position as a leading logistics hub in West Africa and a driver of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic development.
