MOTHER’S DAY 2026: WOMEN OF THE PORT OF ABIDJAN CELEBRATED FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMPANY’S PERFORMANCE
The women of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) were honored on Monday, June 1, 2026, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, during a ceremony marked by conviviality and appreciation, held in the presence of the Managing Director of PAA, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, and members of the Executive Committee.
Held under the theme “Take Your Place and Play a Leading Role in Port Competitiveness,” the event provided a valuable opportunity for reflection and discussion on the role of women within the organization and their essential contribution to the performance, modernization, and influence of the Port of Abidjan.
Opening the series of speeches, Mrs. DJÈ KONAN Bernadette, President of the Association of Women of the Abidjan Port Authority (AFPAA), paid a heartfelt tribute to all mothers, praising their unconditional love, courage, spirit of sacrifice, and their decisive role in raising children and maintaining family stability. She also highlighted women’s remarkable ability to balance professional responsibilities and family obligations while actively contributing to economic and social development. Reaffirming the commitment of PAA women alongside the General Management, she assured their full mobilization in support of the institution’s ambitions for transformation and influence.
Speaking on behalf of the ceremony’s patronesses, Dr. Titi PALÉ, Commercial, Marketing and Communication Director, praised the commitment, professionalism, and resilience of PAA women. She encouraged them to continue striving for excellence, to have greater confidence in their potential, and to fully assume their place in responsibility and decision-making positions for both their personal fulfillment and the collective performance of the organization.
As keynote speaker, Mrs. Emmanuela Affoué DIANT, Head of the Monitoring, Data Analysis and Disputed Invoices Department, highlighted the strategic role of women in port competitiveness. She emphasized the importance of personal fulfillment, work-life balance, and female leadership as key drivers of performance. Encouraging participants to fully embrace their professional ambitions, she reminded them that their skills, commitment, and adaptability constitute major assets for the development of the Port of Abidjan.
In his address, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, paid tribute to all mothers, whether biological, adoptive, or mothers at heart. He praised their irreplaceable role in transmitting values, dignity, perseverance, and courage. He also highlighted the remarkable contribution of PAA women, whose commitment, rigor, professionalism, and team spirit contribute daily to the institution’s national and international reputation.
He further congratulated the AFPAA for organizing this celebration, which helps strengthen cohesion, family spirit, and the sense of belonging within the port community.
The ceremony concluded in a warm atmosphere with the presentation of gifts to several participants as a token of appreciation for their dedication and contribution to the dynamism, performance, and influence of the Abidjan Port Authority.
