CALL OF THE OCEANIA SIRENA : THE ABIDJAN PORT CONFIRMS ITS POSITIONING AS A HIGH-END CRUISE DESTINATION IN WEST AFRICA
The Abidjan Port welcomed, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, the cruise ship Oceania Sirena, once again illustrating its ability to receive international cruise vessels under conditions of quality, safety, and operational fluidity that meet international standards.
Operated by Oceania Cruises, this upscale cruise ship, featuring 11 modern decks, offers its passengers a premium experience with a capacity of approximately 600 travelers in an intimate and refined setting. Positioned in the high-end cruise segment, Oceania Cruises is internationally recognized for the quality of its services, particularly its gastronomy and cultural itineraries. It is regularly ranked among the world’s most highly regarded cruise lines in its category.
Its call at the Abidjan Port forms part of an international itinerary showcasing the main port and cultural destinations of West Africa, thereby confirming the growing prominence of the Ivorian port platform in the cruise tourism segment.
Beyond the port performance itself, this call highlights Côte d’Ivoire’s tourism attractiveness. Passengers had the opportunity to discover emblematic sites such as the Banco Forest, the Bingerville Botanical Garden, the Abidjan City Craft Center (CAVA), as well as the historic town of Grand-Bassam, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These tours reflect the country’s rich cultural, natural, and historical heritage.
This positive momentum is part of the economic transformation policy driven by His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, whose reforms have helped strengthen the attractiveness of Côte d’Ivoire, both in terms of infrastructure and security, as well as macroeconomic stability.
Arriving from the Port of Takoradi, the Oceania Sirena will continue its itinerary to Banjul after a successful call that contributes to enhancing the international visibility of the Abidjan Port and consolidating its ambition to become a regional hub for maritime tourism.
