A DELEGATION FROM THE NETHERLANDS CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES ON A WORKING VISIT TO THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY

The Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) welcomed, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, a delegation from the Customs Authorities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as part of a working visit aimed at strengthening cooperation in customs and port matters. This strategic meeting forms part of efforts to secure and streamline cargo flows between the two countries.

The delegation, led by Ms. Karin BORSBOOM, Director of International Affairs at the Dutch Customs Administration, and accompanied by Colonel KOUADIO AKÉ José-Nicole, representative of the Permanent Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee for State Action at Sea (SEPCIM-AEM), was received by Colonel COFFI YAO Emmanuel, Harbour Master of the Abidjan Port.

Also present alongside him were Dr. Titi PALÉ épouse KOUMAN, Director of Commercial, Marketing and Communication, as well as officials from the PAA Special Police Unit and the Customs Administration.

Discussions focused on major issues related to the security of logistics flows and the fight against illicit trafficking, particularly drug trafficking, a challenge shared by many port platforms worldwide. These discussions made it possible to identify concrete areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening control mechanisms and operational cooperation.

Representatives of the Abidjan Port Authority also highlighted the recent progress achieved by the port platform, driven by structuring investments and modernized infrastructures, which contribute to strengthening its competitiveness and attractiveness as a major logistics hub in West Africa.

On this occasion, Colonel COFFI YAO Emmanuel reaffirmed the PAA’s commitment to promoting a secure, efficient port environment that complies with international standards.

At the end of the meeting, both parties praised the quality of the discussions and expressed their willingness to continue this collaboration within a more formal framework, in order to further strengthen the security and fluidity of trade flows between Côte d’Ivoire and the Netherlands.
