THE PORT OF ABIDJAN, PARTNER OF THE “TOUR OF RECONCILIATION” — 31st EDITION OF "THE TOUR CYCLISTE DE CÔTE D’IVOIRE"
The Port of Abidjan has once again reaffirmed its commitment to sports and Ivorian youth through its sponsorship of the Winner’s Jersey during the 31st edition of the "Tour Cycliste de Côte d’Ivoire", held from August 30 to September 6, 2025, under the theme “Tour of Reconciliation.”
This major competition, which covered several localities across the country, brought together teams from ten nationalities — Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Togo, Guinea, Mali, and two European teams. It has become a leading sporting event, promoting fraternity and national unity.
Port of Abidjan a faithful Partner of Ivorian Cycling
A long-standing supporter of sports development in Côte d’Ivoire, the Port of Abidjan has, for many years, supported the Ivorian Cycling Federation (FIC) in promoting the “little queen.”
For this edition, the institution sponsored the PAA Stage Winner’s Jersey, awarded to each cyclist who distinguished himself across the seven stages of the competition.
The PAA delegation, led by Mr. Die Goh Marcel, Head of International Cooperation at the Commercial, Marketing, and Communication Department (DCMC), represented Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, at each stage of the Tour.
An Edition Filled with Emotion and Performance
The seven stages of the Tour offered a thrilling, high-level sporting spectacle.
Highlights included:
- 1st Stage (Aboisso – Adiaké, 73 km): victory of Kuéré N. Rodrigue (Cameroon, SNH Vélo Club)
- 2nd Stage (Adzopé – Abengourou, 120.2 km): won by Yaya Diallo (Mali)
- 3rd Stage (Daoukro, 180 km circuit): triumph of Andé Kouadio Emmanuel (Côte d’Ivoire)
- 4th and 5th Stages: double victory by Yaya Diallo (Mali)
- 6th Stage (Yamoussoukro – Daloa, 136.4 km): won by Issiaka Cissé, captain of the Ivorian national team
- 7th Stage (Bouaflé – Sinfra, 76 km): won by of Steve Ngueguim (Cameroon)
In the final standings, Cameroon’s SNH Vélo Club emerged victorious both individually and as a team, confirming its dominance after its 2024 title.
The Abidjan Grand Prix, held on September 7 in the commune of Cocody over a 71.2 km circuit, concluded this 31st edition on a high note style, with a brilliant victory by Kouamé Konan Olivier (Côte d’Ivoire)
A High-Visibility Partnership
Beyond sponsoring the winner’s jersey, the Port of Abidjan took advantage of the Daloa stage to showcase its activities, modern infrastructure, and international certifications. The public and officials had the opportunity to interact with the PAA delegation and received promotional items — polo shirts, T-shirts, and caps — symbols of the institution’s closeness and conviviality.
Local authorities and residents in the towns crossed by the Tour praised the Port of Abidjan’s consistent support for national initiatives and Ivorian youth. They also congratulated the Ivorian Cycling Federation and its President, Mr. Yao Allah Kouamé, recently elected as President of the African Cycling Confederation, for the excellent organization and continental impact of the event.
The Port of Abidjan, A Driver of Performance and Unity
Through this sports partnership, the Port of Abidjan, under the visionary leadership of Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director, reaffirms its deep commitment to performance, solidarity, and national cohesion.
As a major economic and a reference institution, the Abidjan Port Authority firmly believes that sports, beyond competition, serve as a powerful vehicle for unity, personal development, and hope for Africa’s youth.
