PAA AND UCACI CONSOLIDATE THEIR PARTNERSHIP IN SUPPORT OF PORT COMPETITIVENESS

As part of its ongoing consultation process with stakeholders of the Abidjan Port Community (CPA), the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, received in audience, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, a delegation from the Union of Shipping Agents and Shipowners of Côte d’Ivoire (UCACI), led by its President, Mr. Franck-Hervé GBALOU.

This meeting reflects the PAA General Management’s commitment to strengthening dialogue with key stakeholders in the maritime and logistics chain through a collaborative approach based on listening, consultation, and the joint search for solutions to the competitiveness challenges facing the Port of Abidjan.

On this occasion, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ commended the significant contribution of shipping agents and shipowners to the development of port activities. He notably highlighted their strategic role in facilitating trade flows, enhancing the quality of port services, and strengthening the reputation of the Port of Abidjan as a leading logistics and maritime hub in West Africa.

The discussions provided UCACI representatives with an opportunity to present their main concerns relating to the conduct of their activities and to put forward proposals aimed at further improving operating conditions and the quality of services offered to users of the port platform.

Welcoming this dialogue initiative launched by the PAA General Management, members of the delegation reaffirmed their full commitment to supporting efforts undertaken to meet the expectations of users of the Port of Abidjan.

This audience reflects the shared determination of the PAA and UCACI to strengthen a constructive partnership in support of the competitiveness of the Abidjan port platform and the enhancement of its position along major regional and international trade corridors.
