INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: PAA MANAGING DIRECTOR TAKES PART IN A WORKING SESSION WITH GLOBAL GIANT CHINA COMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
While attending the 17th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IICF), held from June 10 to 12, 2026, in Macao, China, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, joined the Minister of Infrastructure and Road Maintenance, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, for a working session with Mr. CHEN Zhong, Vice President of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), one of the world’s leading infrastructure groups.
The discussions focused on several major issues, including the exploration of investment solutions and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to accelerate the implementation of strategic projects in Côte d’Ivoire, notably the development projects of the Port of Abidjan, the integration of cutting-edge technologies, and the development of multimodal transport links (rail and road).
During the meeting, Mr. CHEN Zhong praised the quality of cooperation between China and Côte d’Ivoire, marked by the implementation of several large-scale projects and the signing of numerous partnership agreements. He reaffirmed CCCC’s commitment to supporting Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions in strategic sectors such as maritime infrastructure, digital technologies, transportation, and environmental transition.
For the Abidjan Port Authority, this momentum opens up significant prospects for the continuation of its modernization programme and the strengthening of its position as a leading logistics platform in West Africa. It is fully aligned with the vision of the Ivorian authorities to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy and establish the Port of Abidjan as a premier maritime and logistics hub on the African continent.
Present in 166 countries, CCCC ranks among the world’s largest infrastructure companies. Its subsidiaries include China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), which has delivered several major projects at the Port of Abidjan, including the Second Container Terminal (TC2), awarded the “Green Terminal” label. The Group also includes China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), which constructed the Tiébissou–Bouaké section of the Northern Motorway as well as the "Alassane OUATTARA" Bridge, the landmark structure connecting the municipalities of Plateau and Cocody.
