Friday 09 October 2026

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, received a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF), led by its Director General, Mr. Seydou TOU.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two institutions to review their relationship and discuss prospects for further cooperation, particularly on issues related to trade between Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

The strategic role of PAA in supplying Burkina Faso and supporting the development of subregional trade was highlighted during the discussions. Both parties also explored opportunities for cooperation around development projects at Abidjan Port, notably the Ferkessédougou Dry Port.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of CCI-BF underscored the importance of maintaining regular dialogue with PAA in order to better support Burkinabè economic operators and contribute to continuously improving their relations with the port platform.

The discussions also focused on prospects for improving the fluidity of the Abidjan–Ouagadougou corridor. Both parties stressed the importance of closer cooperation among the various stakeholders across the logistics chain, as well as improved information sharing, to ensure more effective coordination and support trade performance.

At the close of the meeting, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, thanked the CCI-BF delegation for its initiative and the quality of the discussions. He welcomed the importance of this initiative to strengthen relations between the two institutions and reaffirmed PAA’s readiness to continue this constructive dialogue with the Chamber of Commerce and economic stakeholders from its hinterland.
