EU–CÔTE D’IVOIRE FISHERIES PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT: A MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ON A WORKING VISIT TO THE ABIDJAN PORT

A delegation from the European Union (EU) led by Mr. Ton DIEPEVEEN, Member of the European Parliament, carried out a working mission at the Abidjan Port Authority on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The delegation was received by Mr. TOURÉ Djakaridja, Director of the Fishing Terminal.

The visit was conducted within the framework of the implementation of the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and the European Union.

Discussions enabled the European parliamentarian, the delegation from the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources (MIRAH) led by Colonel KODJO Alain, Technical Advisor in charge of fisheries, and stakeholders of the sector present, to learn more about the assets and performance of the Fishing Terminal of the Abidjan Port, the leading port for the export of processed tuna.

The meeting concluded with a field visit aimed at presenting ongoing operations at the Abidjan Fishing Terminal.

Through this mission, the Abidjan Port reaffirmed its central role in cooperation relations between Côte d’Ivoire and its international partners and confirmed its strategic position as an interface serving the national fisheries sector.
