DECORATION IN THE ORDER OF MARITIME MERIT : TWO EXECUTIVES OF ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY HONORED

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, a “FAREWELL” ceremony was held at the Annex Base of the National Navy in Plateau, marking the retirement of sailors who have devoted many years of service to the State of Côte d’Ivoire.

Beyond honoring retiring sailors, the ceremony also served to recognize civilian and military figures whose commitment has significantly contributed to strengthening national maritime security and governance.

To this end, 58 individuals were honored with the Order of Maritime Merit, distributed across the ranks of Commander (1), Officer (13) and Knight (44).

Among the recipients were two executives of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), decorated at the rank of Knight:

·              Ms. Silué Traoré Salimata, Director of Human Resources;

·              Lieutenant Colonel Latte Serge Alfred, Head of the Security Department at the Harbormaster’s Office, under the Directorate of Maritime Operations, Security and Environment (DOMSE).

These distinctions recognize their contributions to institutional cooperation, support for maritime security mechanisms and the safety of port facilities, within a strategic context for the national economy.

Through this ceremony, Ivorian maritime authorities reaffirm their commitment to valuing merit, professionalism and dedication to the service of the Nation, while strengthening synergies with institutional stakeholders in the maritime and port industry.
