PARTICIPATION OF THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY IN THE 45TH PMAWCA ANNUAL COUNCIL IN POINTE-NOIRE: A REAFFIRMED COMMITMENT TO PORT COOPERATION
As a major player in the African port landscape, the Abidjan Port Authority attended the 45th Annual Council of the Association of Port Management Organizations of West and Central Africa (AGPAOC), held from November 4 to 7, 2025, at the Port Autonome de Pointe-Noire in the Republic of Congo.
Held under the theme “Reinventing port land management: towards sustainable infrastructure enhancement in the face of economic and environmental challenges,” the meeting brings together African port leaders, international experts, and technical partners to reflect on innovative solutions for modernizing and optimizing port land management.
Led by its Director General, Mr. Hien Yacouba Sié, the Abidjan Port Authority delegation put an emphasis, during this Council, on the reforms undertaken in recent years to improve land management, strengthen port competitiveness, and consolidate its strategic positioning in West Africa.
The official opening ceremony, held on November 5, 2025, was presided over by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo, Mr. Anatole Collinet Makosso, in the presence of Ms. Ingrid Ebouka-Babackas, Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and Merchant Navy, along with several figures from the national and international maritime community.
The first day of proceedings, on November 4, 2025, was marked by thematic panels and B2B exchanges among port executives focusing on shared challenges, regional cooperation, and the exchange of best practices.
Up to November 7, the Annual Council will continue with conferences, stand visits, technical workshops, and the 20th Round Table of Directors General of member ports.
Through its participation, the Abidjan Port Autonome reaffirms its determination to be a driving force in building a more efficient, integrated, and sustainable African port network, in support of regional competitiveness and the development of international trade.
