On 29th July 2021, the National Union of Journalists of Côte d’Ivoire (UNJCI) launched at its headquarters ‘’ Maison de la presse’’ in Plateau, the official ceremony of the 23rd Edition of Ebony under the new name of ‘‘Week-End of The 2021 Ebony’’.

Mr. Amadou COULIBALY, Minister of communication, Media and Francophonie presided over the ceremony, while Mr. Hien Yacouba SIE, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority was the sponsor.

The 2021 Edition this year, will again take place on the 17th,18th ,19th December at ‘’ Hotel President de Yamoussoukro’’ under the theme: “Journalism and Fake News: Challenge or Defiance’’. Regarding the chosen theme, the sponsor of the ceremony indicated that the Ebony Award which aims at fostering excellence in the skills of journalists, called for more professionalism from them in the processing of information so as to promote social cohesion. He reaffirmed the support of Abidjan Port Authority to UNJCI before opening the proceedings of the 23rd Edition of the Ebony weekend.
