As regards the construction process of a new Grain Terminal in Abidjan Port, a significant message was delivered on 30 June 2018 during a meeting between officials of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Abidjan Port Authority.
Actually, within the framework of the construction project of a grain Terminal, the Ivorian Government agreed to sign with JICA a loan for the financing of the said project on 13 April 2018.The information was given by the Managing Director of Abidjan port authority to the JICA delegation led by Mr KANEDA MASAYUKI, Director for Africa Division 4.
Two major issues were discussed during the meeting. Firstly, the choice of the currency which would be used in the implementation of the project. On this issue, Mr HIEN SIE stated that it was up to the state of Côte d’Ivoire to make the choice through the Ministry of Economy and Finance which signed the agreement with JICA.
The second issue was about an invitation to the Ministry of Transport and to the Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority to go to Japan in order to discover the country’s expertise in the port industry.
